Texas citizens may be upset with Gov. Greg Abbott, but it has nothing to with his policies.
Abbott sent out a tweet just after 3 p.m. Monday that said: "Congrats to the @astros on advancing to the ALCS!. Hoping for an all-Texas #ALCS. Looking at you @Rangers."
At the time, the Astros held a 6-2 lead over the Royals. Then Kansas City had five runs in the eighth inning and two more in the ninth. The Royals went on to defeat the Astros 9-6 to force a winner-take-all Game 5  in the American League Division Series on Wednesday in Kansas City, and deflating the masses in orange at Minute Maid Park.
Abbott's  tweet was (typically) deleted a few moments later, but not before being screen grabbed for Internet eternity.
Social media responded to the Astros' loss by using the hashtag "#AbbottCurse."
Rangers fans may also have a problem with the tweet -- after a 2-0 lead over the Toronto Blue Jays in the ALDS, the Rangers are poised to play a Game 5 on Wednesday also.
Abbott responded from another Twitter account by tweeting: "Hey @Astros fans. Unfollow -->@GovAbbott. Follow the REAL Greg Abbott right here. No predictions. Just support."
Both Twitter accounts, @GovAbbott and @GregAbbottATX are verified. A spokesperson for Abbott said he did not make the tweet, but someone on his staff did.
