    Second-half flurry snaps 4-match skid

    Two years ago, against the same opponent, in the same facility and during the same stage of the season, San Antonio FC’s postseason aspirations for its inaugural season came to a crushing end.


    With identical particulars, the local United Soccer League club’s playoff aspirations for this season earned a much-needed boost.


    SAFC scored three second-half goals and rallied past Rio Grande Valley FC 3-1 on Wednesday night in the South Texas Derby at H-E-B Park in Edinburg.


    The Alamo City squad (10-9-7, 37 points) snapped a four-match losing streak and moved into ninth place in the Western Conference, only one point behind eighth-place Swope Park Rangers with eight matches remaining.
