Dickens’ 220-yard game powers UIW rout of SFA

Through two games, Incarnate Word football coach Eric Morris felt something was missing from his team’s offense.

The Cardinals had moved the ball effectively enough, even scored points, but Morris wanted more explosiveness from the passing game.

Running back Ra’Quanne Dickens made the strategy moot.

Dickens rushed for 220 yards — the second most in program history, behind only Broderi Reeves’ 240 yards vs. McMurry in 2013 — and two touchdowns as Incarnate Word rode a dominating first half to a 31-7 win Saturday over Stephen F. Austin in a Southland Conference opener before 3,311 at Benson Stadium.
