Six other teams in the top 10 at the end of last season begin this year in the marquee portion of the poll, including No. 2 Clayton Valley-Concord and Najee Harris-led No. 3 Antioch.
Monte Vista-Danville, which closed 2015 as the region’s No. 19 team, makes the biggest jump, improving 14 spots to No. 5.
The top 10 teams enter 2016 having combined for only 25 losses last season — and three of them lost only once.
