Serra fades in 2nd half in loss to St. Mary’s-Stockton

Dusty Frampton rushed for 277 yards and five touchdowns on 21 carries to help lead visiting St. Mary’s-Stockton to a 63-35 win over No. 8 Serra in a season opener Saturday afternoon.

Nunn apparently cramped up right after returning the opening kickoff of the second half 93 yards for a touchdown.

[...] on the first play from scrimmage after the kickoff, Frampton was leaving tread marks on the artificial turf yet again, this time breaking a 60-yard touchdown that “just ruined them,” in Frampton’s words.

Nunn, who was MVP of the West Catholic Athletic League last year, caught a 20-yard touchdown pass from Dameilo in the first half.

[...] on the final play of the half, Marcus Aponte scored on a 1-yard run to give St. Mary’s a 26-21 halftime lead.

After St. Ignatius’ 21-0 halftime lead was cut to 21-14 in the third quarter, Jack Thomson picked off a pass and took it 21 yards for a score.

The Wildcats added two more defensive touchdowns as part of a 28-point fourth quarter.

Albert Lopez had an 80-yard touchdown run and Isaac Regalado added a 98-yard interception return for a score as the visiting Haybalers defeated the Gators.
