High school top 25:
Top seven remain in order
The top seven teams in The Chronicle’s weekly top 25 high school football poll held serve in the first week of the season.
De La Salle-Concord, Clayton Valley and Antioch fill the top three spots, respectively, and are followed by St. Francis-Mountain View, Monte Vista-Danville, Pittsburg, and Valley Christian-Dublin.
Concord moved up four notches to land in the top 10, but Serra-San Mateo - last week’s No. 8 team - was trampled by St. Mary’s-Stockton, 63-35, and dropped to No. 11.
Foothill-Pleasanton was the only other top 10 from a week ago to falter in its opener, losing 38-24 to San Leandro, which was not ranked in the season’s first poll but is No. 14 this week.
Menlo-Atheron and Mitty-San Jose dropped out.
