Top 25 high school football:
Plenty of movement within the rankings
The Chronicle’s Top 25 teams lost just three games last week — all to other Top 25 teams — thus nobody moved out of or into this week’s rankings.
Only top-ranked De La Salle and the final four teams, Half Moon Bay, Foothill, Heritage and Menlo-Atherton remained in the same spot from a week ago.
For the first time in more than a decade, De La Salle’s top spot isn’t a lock.
The Spartans squeaked out their second straight narrow win in two weeks, 28-27 over San Ramon Valley, and with a couple key injuries, they are nowhere near as dominant as in previous seasons.
Teams on the bubble this week are:
Kennedy-Fremont (6-0), Moreau Catholic-Hayward (5-1), Rancho Cotate (4-2), Redwood-Larkspur (6-1), San Ramon Valley (4-2) and St. Patrick-St.
