It was a much better week for the teams in The Chronicle’s Top 25 rankings, as just five lost. Some had an open week, however, because of heat- and air-quality-related cancellations.
The top 11 held firm, and just two teams — California-San Ramon and Antioch — moved into the top 15. Two new teams joined the rankings, including Half Moon Bay at No. 20. The Cougars were a bubble team a week ago, but punched their entry with a 48-7 blowout of Palo Alto.
Mitty enters at No. 21 after taking down previous No. 12 Menlo-Atherton 30-23.
More shakeups are expected this week when there will be three matchups of ranked teams, most notably No. 3 St. Francis visiting No. 1 De La Salle-Concord. No.
