San Ramon Valley-Danville fourth-year head football coach Aaron Becker didn’t want the topic broached. He has been around long enough to know you don’t even go there.
A Northern California team that’s seen as a threat to De La Salle-Concord’s preposterous unbeaten streak — a team that is supposed to give the Spartans even a game — “just gets destroyed,” Becker said. “You give a team (an opponent) just a little bit of extra attention and (De La Salle) tends to just play better.”
It has been 287 games since Pittsburg defeated De La Salle 35-27 in the 1991 North Coast Section 3A title game at the Oakland Coliseum.
