From those, none has been more impressive than 16th-ranked Half Moon Bay.
With a 28-man roster, the two-time defending Central Coast Section Division 5 champions were elevated this season to the Peninsula Athletic League’s top level, the Bay Division.
A longtime small-school power, the Cougars had been elevated three times before with little success: two wins and 13 losses.
