It’s like a slow, loud faucet drip. The longer it goes, the louder it seems to get.
Mitty’s boys basketball team finally shut off the valve with a 66-60 West Catholic Athletic League home victory Tuesday over 12th-ranked Riordan.
Sophomore guard Devan Sapp led a balanced scoring attack with 15 points, followed by 14 from Joseph Vaughn, 12 points and 11 rebounds by Riley Grigsby and 10 points by Charles Meng.
It all added up to Mitty’s first WCAL win of the season following four losses. Mitty, a two-time state champion when Aaron Gordon was around, and a perennial Bay Area power, is 4-12 overall.
A win was most welcome.
