There will be no debating who is better in 2018: Northern California football juggernauts De La Salle-Concord and Folsom will decide it on the field.
After weeks of negotiations and a little help from another East Bay team, the schools announced Thursday that they will open their respective seasons with a game in Concord on Aug. 17.
Folsom finished 2017 at No. 18 in MaxPreps’ national rankings after going 16-0, scoring 770 points, and winning a state Division 1-AA title. The Bulldogs return 15 starters, including quarterback Kaiden Bennett, who through the air and on the ground accounted for 5,649 yards and 73 touchdowns last season.
