    Sacred Heart Cathedral girls ‘now learning how to win,’ coach says

    The overall record isn’t so pretty, but Sacred Heart Cathedral’s girls basketball team has always been about substance over style.

    The four-time state champions won their fourth straight West Catholic Athletic League game on Wednesday, 53-47 at St. Francis.

    Freshman guard Milan Tuttle scored 18 points, junior post Talo Li-Uperesa added 12 points and 10 rebounds, and Rainah Smith contributed tough defense and three key steals for the 15th-ranked Irish (9-11, 5-2).

    St. Francis (13-8, 2-5) got 17 points from Paige Uyehara.

    “It’s starting to come all together,” Sacred Heart Cathedral coach LyRyan Russell said. “We’re just now learning how to win.
