High school top 20: Loss doesn’t hurt Bellarmine’s ranking

The top 10 teams in The Chronicle’s top 20 boys basketball rankings didn’t move, even though there was one significant loss.

After 24 consecutive wins in the West Catholic Athletic League, Bellarmine was beaten by unranked Mitty.

But the Bells weren’t dinged for the defeat. They maintained the No. 3 spot for their resilience in a league that has placed six teams in the rankings.

Fourth-ranked Menlo-Atherton finished off a stellar 3-0 week with a 68-57 win over previous No. 11 University on Saturday.

The combined record of the top 10 teams last week was 19-1.

Berkeley dropped just one spot to No. 13 following a 64-58 loss at No.
