All were recipes for an upset, but the Salesian-Richmond boys basketball team — much as it has done all season — focused on the job at hand and recorded another impressive victory, this one 69-52 over St. Patrick-St. Vincent of Vallejo in the Tri-County Athletic League Rock Division playoff championship Saturday night at El Cerrito.
Jaden McClanahan and James Akinjo led a balanced scoring attack for Salesian (27-1) with 15 points each, lifting The Chronicle’s top-ranked team to its 20th straight victory.
St. Patrick-St. Vincent (17-10) got 15 points and 13 rebounds by 6-foot-9 sophomore center Dishon Jackson.
