North Coast Section commissioner Gil Lemmon sent out a heartfelt letter via Twitter on Friday morning entitled “Unprecedented Times.”
It was a big-picture look at the trials and tribulations from all perspectives — teams, coaches, administrators and parents — of the long week trying to schedule, reschedule and manage championship events amid the smoke from the state’s deadliest and most destructive wildfire on record, the Camp Fire in Butte County.
The letter forebode cancellations and postponements for Bay Area athletes throughout the day because of unhealthy air conditions and soaring Air Quality Index numbers.
