A pair of 5-foot-3, unsung backcourt players led second-ranked Pinewood-Los Altos Hills to a 47-37 win over fourth-ranked Salesian-Richmond on Saturday in the Platinum Division championship game of the West Coast Jamboree at College Park-Pleasant Hill.
Annika Decker, a sophomore, scored 13 points and made six straight free throws down the stretch and Kaitlyn Leung added 12 points for the Panthers (10-0), who outscored the Pride 15-6 in the fourth quarter.
Salesian (7-5) held Pinewood’s top two scorers, Stanford-bound Hannah Jump and Klara Astrom to a combined 14 points, but the Pride couldn’t muster much offense, scoring a combined 21 points in the first, second and fourth quarters.
