Junior duo leads first-place Riordan past Bellarmine

When Riordan juniors Je’Lani Clark and Bryce Monroe get it going at the same time, the Crusaders are tough to beat.
The backcourt duo combined for 18 of their team’s 22 points in the third quarter as the Crusaders took control. The two players finished with 41 combined points in a 63-52 West Catholic Athletic League win over host Bellarmine on Saturday night.
Clark became the second Riordan junior to break the 1,000-point career scoring mark and finished with 22 points on 8-of-12 shooting. His steal, fastbreak layup and free throw at the end of the third quarter finished a 12-point quarter for the 6-foot-3 standout.
