It was a little more than a month ago when New Canaan’s Zach Allen, during the Boston College pro day in Chestnut Hill, Mass., had a chance to reflect on the past and look forward to the future.
“I am just trying to get through day by day,” Allen told Hearst’s Jim Fuller. “But I am sure it will be a lot of fun to celebrate with my family because I wouldn’t be here without them, Coach (Lou) Marinelli and all of them who helped me get here.
“I am very fortunate for everybody who has been in my life and can’t wait to hear my name get called.”
That day could be fast approaching as Allen and the rest of his football family in New Canaan await the NFL draft, which gets underway with the first round at 8 p.m.
