Davidson College freshman Braeden Dial was named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of of the Week in women’s lacrosse after helping the Wildcats defeat Furman 13-8 on Saturday, Feb. 16.
A 2018 graduate of New Canaan High School, Dial scored a game-high four goals in the win, including two in the first seven minutes of the game as Davidson took a 9-1 lead. She took seven shots and also had one ground ball and one draw control.
Davidson has won the A-10 Rookie of the Week award in two straight weeks. Goalie Delaney Guhman earned the honor in the first week of the season.
The Wildcats are 3-0 to begin the season, and Dial had collected nine goals and four assists for 13 points, leading the team in both goals and points.
