Wins By Clayton Valley, Aptos And Rocklin Bring About Biggest Changeover To NorCal Football Rankings In Several Weeks •
While there were no changes to the top third of the NorCal Football Rankings, a few upsets across multiple sections definitely brought a shift to the lower two-thirds.
We’ll start with the highest ranked team to fall this week. Former No. 8 Salinas got caught up in a shootout with Aptos, and the Mariners outlasted the Cowboys 44-41. While the win dropped Salinas seven spots to No. 15, its win over Clayton Valley was able to keep it ranked.
That’s because Clayton Valley has suddenly found its groove and won three straight after going 1-3 out of the gate. The Ugly Eagles’ recent win came over former-No. 15 San Ramon Valley-Danville and allowed them to jump four spots from No. 20 to 16.
