Texas 6A DI RD 3: #1 Allen @ #6 San Angelo Central

Allen is traveling to West Texas folks. Not sure they've ever been west of Ft. Worth? San Angelo is a football town, period. That stadium will be packed full of screaming/yelling Angry Orange fans who have not seen their team lose at home in 22 games. It may take Allen a full quarter to adjust in that environment and at that point, SAC may have 21 on the board. Allen fans, how will they travel? I'm not seeing it, they may fill half their side but I could be wrong. West Texas teams travel. Remember Odessa Permian at Trinity a couple years ago? Standing room only on Mojo's side.
All that being said, SAC is explosive and has a lot of talent. Many would argue they haven't played anyone but I counter that with the fact that the teams they have played, they have blown away on both sides of the ball including my beloved Abilene Eagles. I am not so sure Allen has faced such a well balanced team this year and again, this could lead to them making game time adjustments while Central puts points on the board forcing Allen to play catch-up. If they are in catch-up mode, how well do they play? Do they get down on themselves?
I assure you Coach Davis will throw some formations never been seen before on both sides of the ball. He's been scheming them for this type of game.
Hey, I could be wrong but I am confident this is the week the Goliath goes down and our neighbors to the southwest prevail. All in all SAC knows what they're getting from Allen, Allen has no clue about what they're getting from SAC.Comment

I think I may go to this one.
Oh, and I'm not sure Central is really an underdog here. It's going to be a good game and I wouldn't be surprised if it's a fairly low scoring game.
A lot of folks talk about the Central offense, but the defense is better.Comment

Every so often we get a team that is special that no one was expecting, a few years ago it was Abilene, SAC is that team this year. They are simply better than Allen in most phases. Playing at home it will be a convincing win. I said 42-28, I can see 45-31.
SAC has quality discipline, size and execution. They will be extremely tough to beat. What has impressed me about them all season is their ability to jump out ahead of teams in the 1st half.Last edited by Horsefly; 11-19-2016, 11:54 AM.👍 1Comment

With the exception of SJB/Cen 10, this might be the game of the week. I still like Allen 52-45, but wouldn't be shocked to see the Eagles lose down in San Angelo.
While Im here I have to give a shout out to my Del Rio Rams. I was stationed there from 97-00. They were terrible! It's nice to see them winning. Good luck tonight against Westlaco East.Comment

IMO Abilene is the best team SAC has beaten and Abilene may be better than anyone allen has played. Abilene is still in the playoffs, SAC beat abilene 63-26. they are extremely talented and efficient on offense as they have some very big and sure handed skill players, this is what makes them tough to defend: dual threat QB:6'2 185, RB: 6'0 200, WRs: 6'8 220, 6'5 210, 6'2 185, 6'1 170. all are D1 type players.
very good defense and special teams.
Allen is playing on the road the day after thanksgiving in front of 20K folks, 300 miles away. I just don't see an allen victory, but that's why they play the game.
SAC 42-28

Yesterday the ticket office was only open for season ticket holders to claim their seats. Open to the general public today starting at 7:30am. This first picture is from 6am. Apparently there were people there at least as early as 4:30am. Expected to sell out today. Reserved seating sold out at 7:39am.
About 7am. People are also inside and you can snake the line 100+ deep inside the building. The line goes to the bank next door-
