I had this exchange on the National Board recently. His question followed by my response.

Has El paso claimed any Titles at all

HS football.

No. Not even close.

No State Final game appearances either.

Last season 5A EP Canutillo became the first EP or surrounding area team to ever advance beyond the regional (3rd) round. They lost in the semi-finals (5th round) to the eventual state champions, Ennis.

The Eagles did their community proud and deserved to be there.

The Canutillo coach, Scott Brooks is the son of former El Paso Coronado coach Don Brooks. Brooks coach EP Coronado for 35 years. Great man and he raised a great son. Congrats to Canutillo.
