The Class 1A Division II state championship football game between Balmorhea and Richland Springs has been postponed due to COVID-19.
Six-man football expert Leman Saunders announced via Twitter on Monday, Dec. 14:
"Balmorhea v Richland Springs has been postponed due to a covid issue at Balmorhea. They will work out details with @uiltexas to play at a later time and place."
Texas Football magazine's Greg Tepper confirmed the news.
According to sixmania.com, a member of the Balmorhea coaching staff tested positive.

The game was originally scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.
The other seven state finals for Class 1A-4A schools will still take place Dec. 14-16 as scheduled.
